Dr Teska is renowned for providing a very high quality, detailed assessment of all new client’s skin concerns.
Your assessment begins with your detailed registration form, which will include not only a standard medical history checklist, but also extends to detailed questioning about your current skincare routine and products used.
New clients often come with a list of specific concerns and fears or a history of previous problems. Some clients will be anxious to avoid having any treatment on the day of their initial consultation. This is quite alright and you can rest assured that we will not pressure you to make a decision about any treatment on the spot. In fact, it is often a good idea to take the reading material home and ‘digest’ it over the next few days or weeks!
Please note that all information provided to Dr Teska – a cosmetic skin doctor/GP dermatologist, and to any other member of our team, is treated with the utmost confidence, and you can be assured that all members of our team are given training in the Medical Records Act, and Privacy Acts to ensure that your confidential information is respected at all times.
Visia and Reveal Imaging
Detailed photographic analysis of your skin using our state of the art Visia and Reveal facial imaging software will allow us to get a detailed and accurate record of your skin’s problems. Initial Visia assessments will incur a charge of $100, with subsequent assessments within a 12month period being free of charge.
How much does a consultation with Dr Teska cost?
Initial weekday consultations (40mins) cost $200, and are usually partly Medicare rebatable. Review weekday consultations (20mins) cost $120, and are usually partly Medicare rebatable. All initial and review consultations require a valid credit card number for confirmation of the booking, in the name of the patient (or parent if patient is a minor). These details are securely held on our software, and can be viewed by management only. A $100 holding fee applies to every initial consultation for both medical and cosmetic appointments, and for ALL Saturday morning appointments. If you don’t have a credit card, then a $100 deposit (cheque/money order/cash/direct deposit) must be arranged. Appointments without valid credit card details or confirmed holding fee deposit may not be retained. Holding fees are non-refundable in the case of a no-show, or if less than 24hrs notice is given of a cancellation.
*Please also note that as of February 1st, 2020, our prices were updated. Initial consultations on Saturdays are now $250, Saturday review consultations are $170. Both of these are Medicare rebatable.
If you are seeing Dr Teska for a purely cosmetic initial consultation the midweek standard cosmetic consult fee is $100, the weekend cosmetic consult fee is $150, and there is no Medicare rebate. Please note that standard cosmetic consults are only 20mins duration. Extended cosmetic consults (40min) are $180 midweek or $230 afterhours/weekend. Any appointment exceeding the allocated 20mins due to a genuine medical issue, will be charged at either the full initial consultation rate of $200 midweek or $250 weekend, or if due to having a procedure performed on the day, this will be additional to the cosmetic consult fee. Repeat treatments done within the 20min appointment are not charged an additional consultation fee.
Appointment Etiquette. In the event of a no-show, a 50% charge is incurred in the case of a review appointment ($100 for all Saturday no-show appointments), or 100% if the booking was for an initial consultation or a double appointment. Cancelled or rescheduled initial appointments within 24 business hrs of the booking will incur a 100% fee. Please note that all fees charged for cancelled/no-show/rescheduled within 24hrs are NOT Medicare rebatable.
We value your time, and endeavour to keep to schedule as much as possible. You will also receive an SMS reminder to your mobile phone one business day prior to your appointment. If you know that you will be unable to keep that appointment it is your responsibility to advise us urgently within business hours. We know that occasionally life can bring its own last minute challenges, despite the best arrangements. If you believe that your circumstances prevented you from being able to follow our etiquette procedures, please let us know! We are not ogres, but just expect mutual respect. We reserve the right to reallocate an appointment to another patient on our wait list in the event of an SMS reminder that goes unanswered.
Unfortunately, we have had to introduce the measures above because it has become apparent that not all telephone bookings have come from people who have respected the time allocated to their booking. We apologise to the many loyal and reliable patients who are inconvenienced by the actions of a few, but hope these measures will improve the access of all genuine customers to Dr Teska and Skin Temple staff.
